These are two pieces of SC State Legislation on the horizon that we are monitoring closely. We are excited SC is being proactive in this area, however these bills do not specifically include OT services.
SB 74: enacts the Autism Responsibility for Everyone Act: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess123_2019-2020/bills/74.htm.
While this legislation would establish a program to provide autism services to more individuals in the state, it does not specify what those services would be provided.
SB 363: further defines autism spectrum disorder and removes eligibility requirements related to age for benefits and coverage related to autism: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess123_2019-2020/bills/363.htm.
This legislation also does not mention any services that are offered.
